Sound Therapy products are a popular alternative to traditional medicine and can help to relieve stress, anxiety, and improve sleep. They can also help reduce the impact of tinnitus, and are easy to use at home. Choosing the right sound therapy product is important, as there are many different types of sounds available on the market. It is also important to consider the noise level, and the associated cost of each product.

The term ‘sound therapy’ is used to describe a broad range of activities that involve the use of calming sounds. It can include anything from music and singing bowls to acupressure, tuning forks and chimes. Sound therapy uses vibration and frequency to create a sense of balance and calmness in the body, and it has been shown to reduce symptoms of chronic stress and anxiety as well as pain.

According to Sara Auster, a sound therapist and author of The Sound Bath: Meditate, Heal and Connect Through Listening, there are many different flavors of sound therapy. She states that sound baths, for example, use instruments such as Tibetan sound bowls to provide a “deeply immersive listening experience.” Other forms of sound therapy include binaural beats, which play two slightly different tones in each ear, but are perceived by the brain as a single tone. Tuning forks, on the other hand, apply pressure to different areas of the body, and are based on the same principles as acupuncture.

Vibrational sound therapy uses low-frequency vibrations to increase cellular movement in the body. This can be beneficial for a number of conditions including Parkinson’s, autism, migraines and more. It can also be used to improve focus, concentration, motivation and stress levels.

However, the committee did not find sufficient evidence to support a practice recommendation on customised sound therapy, either alone or in combination with hearing aids, and therefore did not make a recommendation in this regard.
