A level 3 childcare qualification demonstrates that an individual has the skills, knowledge and experience to work with children from birth to age five. A person with this credential may be able to gain employment as an Early Years Educator, nursery nurse or child minder. Having this level of qualification also makes it possible to obtain management or caching positions within an Early learning centre.
Level 3 programs are a part of Paths to Quality and use a curriculum that supports children’s growth, development and learning. They also focus on staff professional development and incorporate family input into their program. They have a daily schedule and plan activities for each child and share that information with parents.
ELF 3 prepares the brain for academics and expands math concepts using a multi-sensory approach. The program teaches key math skills and produces “neuro-pathways” that can make the difference between a strong or struggling student. This neuro-educational approach is not workbook page driven and includes a spiraling review of all previously introduced math concepts.
Preschools
Early learning is a critical time in children’s lives. They grow quickly, physically and socially. Their experiences during this period lay the foundation for lifelong success in school and later in their careers. High quality early learning provides a safe, healthy and engaging environment to help children thrive.
The AKELC is an international, bilingual (English and Arabic), non-profit nursery and preschool in Oud Metha, Dubai. We provide a rich, inclusive and culturally diverse environment for children aged 12 months to 4 years, using the internationally recognised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Our team of qualified educators are trained to meet the needs of all children and their families, whatever their ability or background.
We believe that a child’s most important early learning experiences occur at home. We encourage parents to be involved in their children’s early learning, and we support them in the development of their child through ongoing training and consultation.
We have invested in programs that focus on supporting families, improving the quality of care and increasing access to high-quality preschool education. You can learn more about our programs by visiting the Yamhill Community Care website. We also offer a free resource guide that can connect you with the many early learning programs available in Yamhill County.
Kindergartens
Kindergartens are preschool programs that prepare children for the first year of primary school. They are typically a half day program, but some are full school day. They provide a vital introduction to learning for five-year-olds. Kindergartens are now almost universal in all countries.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many kindergartens were forced to close during the lockdown period and only opened for the children of essential frontline workers. Integrated ECEC centers continued to operate as normal, but were required to implement strict hygiene measures, including increased ventilation and careful hand washing. Educators were also required to disinfect surfaces and materials, which significantly increased their workloads.
Parents were encouraged to send their children home for the duration of the lockdown, but some kindergartens provided daily opportunities for parents to communicate with their teachers online. In addition, educators sent out play materials for children to use at home and uploaded guidelines on their websites to encourage parent-child interaction at home.
This qualification is for learners working in an early learning and childcare centre who wish to progress to a leadership role. It is designed to enable learners to develop their management and leadership skills, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of their practice. The qualification will support you to develop your knowledge and understanding of the wider context of your work, including child development, the principles of good practice, and professional issues in your sector.
After School Care
School age children deserve high quality learning opportunities that will enable them to reach their full potential. Whether your child is in Kindergarten, Preschool or After School Care, quality programs provide a safe, nurturing environment that will help prepare them for the transition to school.
PEI’s Child Care Registry is an online resource for parents to find and compare child care and early learning programs across the Island. The site helps families find care that matches their child’s needs, budget and family schedule. The system also helps families get help paying for child care through the Keystone STARS program.
There are four levels of quality in the PEI Child Care Registry, ranging from meeting basic health and safety requirements at Level One to earning national accreditation at Level Four. Cache level 3 and Early learning centres
